You're not alone if you’re nervous or hesitant about counseling Hispanic clients.

You can be an experienced dietitian or diabetes care and education specialist at the top of your game… And still not feel confident working with every population.

But it’s not your fault. Our educational programs and health care systems aren't keeping up with America's changing demographics.

Here’s why that’s important.

Nearly 1 in 5 Americans are of Hispanic descent.

That means that if you lack the knowledge and skills to work with our country’s many Hispanic-Americans, you’ll have difficulty connecting with a significant portion of your client base.

That lack of connection may lead to poor outcomes for them—and could impact work opportunities for you.

After all, since more people with diabetes and cardiometabolic conditions are Hispanics, you could find yourself poorly trained and unprepared to work with a large majority of your patients or clients.

But guess what…

I've heard it all before.

As a Hispanic dietitian and certified diabetes care and education specialist, I often hear from RDs that they lack the tools and knowledge to help their Hispanic patients.

They're unfamiliar with the names of foods, different dietary customs, and the health concerns Hispanic people often have.

Or they feel confident working with patients who have Mexican or Cuban heritage, for example, but are unsure about working with others, like those from Guatemala or El Salvador.

That’s why I’m stepping in and filling the gap by offering a free webinar to RDs and other people who work with—or are interested in working with—Hispanic patients.

I want to help you become more familiar with the cuisine and health of major Hispanic cultures in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.

And now, with "Nutrition for Hispanic Cultures," you can.
