Description
Educational Objectives: At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Enumerate two key elements when teaching patients to teach carbohydrates
- List at least two strategies to teach patients which foods contain carbohydrates
- Identify one activity to teach patients how to determine grams of carbohydrate in a portion size
- Identify one activity to teach patients how much carbohydrate is needed to maintain target blood glucose
Target audience: Registered Dietitian/Nutritionists, Certified Diabetes Educators who are Registered Nurses, Pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Physician Assistants, Physicians and other health care professionals working with persons with diabetes.
